On September, 1st the 5th World Nail Championship will be held by the World Nail Association. Due to the Corona Pandemic, it will be the first time this Championship will be organized digitally and happens online.
Ina Maria Schmid, founder of the World Nail Association and organizer of the World Nail Championship, invented also the ‘SecioAurea’ – Golden Cut, which is the task that participants have to accomplish. The task at other competition is much wider, allowing the participants to show their interpretation and style. The ‘SecioAurea’ is strictly defined and has to be completed by the participants to the last details. “This difficult task, to sculpt a set of Acrylic- or Gel-Nails over forms in the length of 6,5 cm (2,56 inch) will lead most participants to their limitations”, so Ina during the interview.
Task
Sculpted Extensions over forms, either with Acrylics or Gels including a Lunula on 8 Nails. An exceptional cuticle area without any dost or residue, white or red edges from product to natural nail must be immaculate. The Smileline has to be sculpted dramatically and the nailbed should be extended with a camouflage product to exactly 25 mm. The length of the white extension should be 40 mm, which will give you a total length of 65 mm (or 2,56 inch). The Nails should be all same shape with a 50% tunnel, or half of a tube. The hairline is required to be as thin as a piece of paper. One Hand has to be polished with red polish. The white French extension should not shine through the polish.
Procedure
On September, 1st the competitors will start at 11 a.m., regardless which country of origin they have. “This will give us 24 hrs. of competition. Presently we have competitors of more than 60 Nations and we look forward to meet with the world bests of the nail industry.
In addition, the judging follows strict rules. After time completion (5 hrs) the competitors will have to take pictures of the nails from certain positions. Only if all these rules are followed to their fullest extend will the competitors have a chance of being placed.
